Since music is largely a matter of taste, no magazine typically agrees, not necessarily even internally on what is the best album, the second best album, and so forth. So here at Rockfreaks.net we have always taken a different approach: we think it's far more important to try to capture all relevant albums from a given year of release that will have some significance a few years down the line...

Essen, Germany-born metalcore ensemble Caliban have posted a visualiser clip for their track “Nichts ist for emmer” online below. It is a reimagined version of “All I Gave” from their 2009 album “Say Hello to Tragedy” and is included on the group’s impending EP “Zeitgeister”, which arrived this past Friday, May 14th.


Ingested & Kill The Lights to support Bleed From Within on Euro tour

Manchester, United Kingdom’s slam death metal mob Ingested and Kill The Lights — the new metalcore outfit uniting the former Bullet For My Valentine drummer Michael ‘Moose’ Thomas with guitarists Jordan Whelan (of Still Remains) and Travis Montgomery (of Threat Signal), bassist Davey Richmond (of Glamour Of The Kill), and vocalist James Clark (of Throw The Fight) — have been confirmed as the support acts for Bleed From Within’s upcoming European tour.


The trek includes a concert at Lille VEGA in Copenhagen on November 05th and there are still tickets available here for 200 DKK (+ fees). For more information, check the official Facebook event.

Copenhell announces big batch of Danish artists for 2022 line-up

Copenhell has unveiled a big batch of Danish artists for its 2022 line-up. All of the bands were originally confirmed for either the 2020 or the 2021 edition of the festival and alphabetically stack up, as follows:

Thundermother unveils new video single: "You Can't Handle Me"

Stockholm, Sweden’s hard rock outfit Thundermother recently unveiled another new video single called “You Can’t Handle Me”, and in case you haven’t already, you can check it out below. It is one of the bonus tracks included on an upcoming deluxe edition re-issue of the band’s latest album “Heat Wave”, which will arrive via AFM Records on May 21st and can be pre-ordered on various formats here.


Danish fans will have an opportunity to watch the band live at Karosserifabrikken in Helsingør on November 12th. Tickets cost between 250 and 315 DKK (+ fees) and can be bought from Ticketmaster.dk, while more information is available in the official Facebook event.

Lansing, MI-born pop punk unit Hot Mulligan have dropped a new single dubbed “Featuring Mark Hoppus” online below. It follows hot on the heels of their latest album “You’ll Be Fine”, which came out via No Sleep Records in 2020 and was reviewed by us here — and is part of a new six-track EP called “I Won’t Reach Out to You” the group is putting out on May 28th. You can pre-order that effort digitally from Bandcamp.

The Picturebooks have revealed a new video single called “Rebel”, featuring a guest appearance by Halestorm’s vocalist Lzzy Hale, and you can check it out below.


Danish fans can look forward to watching the Gütersloh, Germany-born blues rock band live at Hotel Cecil in Copenhagen on March 17th next year, with tickets still available here for 175 DKK (+ fees). Further information about the show can be found in the official Facebook event.
