Dear And The Headlights are writing a new album:

I just wanted to take a minute and let everyone who is interested know that we have decided to take the year off of touring (which we are all very excited about) because this means that we will now have the time to write a new record and make the type of music we have been wanting to make for a long time now! A lot of things have happened over the past three years since we have been touring. We have probably played over 500 shows since February of 08 and have been away from our homes for nearly a year and a half out of the last three years. This kind of touring changes you as a person, and fortunately for us it has only been for the better in my opinion. Right now we are working with about 15-20 new ideas, all of which we are very excited about and have also begun demoing them in PJ's garage several days a week. As some of you know Chuckie our bass player left the band several months ago and since that time we have been trying to find the right bass player for us. Well, we found him! Patrick Taylor is our official new bass player, he is a bad ass, and probably a more skilled musician than just about any of us! I'm not even slightly worried about the direction of the band with all these new changes, in fact i feel more comfortable with the musical direction we are heading in. Thank you to all who have supported us over the last few years, i think this new record is going to be our best yet. We will keep you posted as it comes together!
