Week In Retrospect Sunday 10. August 2008

Newsticker:

Pretty slow week overall from our side, resulting largely from either vacations or from Wacken Open Air festival. But to make up for that in this week, we've got a couple of awesome gig reviews waiting to be posted, as well as the Wacken feature article making you feel like you were actually at the festival. And of course a ton of album reviews, considering our review pile has quadrupled over the holidays. Bands and labels, your patience is appreciated!

As for the newsfront, we still caught onto a couple of fairly interesting events over the course of the week. Wolfmother, for instance, technically broke up, while From Autumn To Ashes members hooked up with the Emanuel singer for a new project. Speaking of new stuff, Hawthorne Heights begun streaming their full length on Myspace, and Silverstein announced plans for recording a new album this fall, while Ferret Music signed a new band, Underneath The Gun. While we're at it, don't forget to check out the new video by Mindless Self Indulgence.

Danish music fans found some time to rejoice when 3 Doors Down, Blessed By A Broken Heart (supported by I Am Ghost), and The Psyke Project announced fresh tour dates including dates in Copenhagen. But we aren't having it as good as our friends in the UK, who can look forward to tours by Strike Anywhere, War From A Harlots Mouth (A Life Once Lost and Eternal Lord supporting), Gama Bomb, Satyricon and Impiety this fall. All those dates can of course be found in our tour dates section.

Don't forget that any news updates can be sent directly to us over email - we won't promise to post everything but if it's interesting and/or relevant enough, expect to see it on the front page. Rumours are highly welcome, too. Just send an email to staff@rockfreaks.net and we'll credit you.

As usual, here's a summary of the four articles posted during the past week.
