Amazon launches DRM-free music store

Posted by PP on 17/05/07

Amazon.com is planning to launch a massive competing online music store to iTunes later this year, only that they will be selling music in the DRM-free MP3 format. So far they have around 12,000 independent labels signed to the project, as well as one major: EMI.

The staff behind Rockfreaks.net are fully behind this idea and applaud it as an indication that the music industry is finally coming into their senses and realizing that when people buy music, they actually want to own it and do whatever they want with it.
