Independent Music catching onto the majors

Posted by PP on 13/02/07

This year some of the major labels posted record losses in CD sales and once again blamed (without justification) piracy for their losses. However, the statistics that were published yesterday say that music released by independent labels accounted for more than 66% of all records that went Gold, and more than 33% for all records that went platinum last year. This is a huge increase from the year before and looks like the trend will continue in 2007. Support your artists and buy their songs, be it online or on CD format.
