Machine Head announces new album "Catharsis" & world tour

Machine Head have wrapped up the recording of their ninth studio album, which has been given the title "Catharsis", and although an official release date is yet to be confirmed, the band expects to have the Zach Ohren-produced effort in stores in early January, 2018.

The record will be promoted on a world tour next year, the North American leg of which has already been announced — so here's hoping for Danish show(s) to be included on that trek. The shows on the trek will follow the "Evening with Machine Head" concept of past odysseys, which translates to performances lasting between 2½ and 3 hours each night and no opening acts. In addition, the thrash metallers will continue their policy of not playing any festivals, so Copenhell is out of the question.

Whilst waiting for more details about "Catharsis" to surface, why not revisit the music for the lead single off the band's 2011 effort "Unto the Locust", below?
