The young British indie band Viola Beach was playing their first gig outside the UK at Sweden's Where's The Music in Norrköbing, but sadly it was also the band's last show. According to The Guardian the band drove through a barrier and crashed into a channel. At the time of the accident the car contained band members Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe og Jack Dakin as well as the band's esteemed manager Craig Tarry.

Tragically, the band was just starting to attract international attention. The Swedish festival the band was playing is a showcase festival for people in the Swedish music business and the band was also booked for the biggest of showcase festival of them all: SXSW in Austin.

The local authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the accident.
