Hellfest '16 finalises line-up; has public funding revoked

Hellfest, one of Europe’s leading metal festivals which takes place in the town of Clisson, France between June 17th and June 19th, has finalised its line-up and day-splits. You can view both in this PDF document.

In related news, the French government has revoked the festival’s €20,000 grant after it refused to remove Down from this year’s bill as a response to Phil Anselmo’s well publicised on-stage nazi salute and ”White power!” roar at the recent Dimebash.

Presumably however, the unavailability of this grant will not cause a particularly large dent in Hellfest’s budget, and the festival’s promoter Ben Barbaud seems adamant that French senator and President of the General Council of the Vendeé Bruno Retailleau, a known opponent of the festival in general and the person who issued the demand to have Down barred, was simply looking for an excuse to pull the funding.

Down was recently barred from the FortaRock Festival in Nijmegen, Netherlands however.
