New Orleans, LA punk rock / hardcore punk group PEARS will release their sophomore full-length ”Green Star” via Fat Wreck Chords on April 01st. Check out the artwork here. ”Green Star” follows the critically acclaimed ”Go to Prison” from 2014, on which we heaped praise in this review, and according to vocalist Zach Quinn, they took considerably longer writing this effort:

The biggest difference was Go To Prison was a fast thing—we just threw it together. This, we slaved over it. We wrote songs and cut songs and cut parts of songs and put them into other songs. It was a nightmare, but I’ve never been more proud of anything. Even though it was a completely different process, it feels like the next step.

The band is set to appear at this year’s Groezrock festival, which takes place on April 29th and April 30th in Meerhout, Belgium. True to tradition, we have organised a bus trip there from Copenhagen and Fredericia, which costs 2130 DKK and includes transport to and from the festival, a partout ticket, as well as a camping ticket.
