Roskilde Festival announced this morning that from 2015 onwards, the music days will be Wednesday to Saturday as opposed to Thursday to Sunday, Politiken.dk reports. The warm up start will once again move to Saturday this year, and the festival will close on Sunday morning instead of Monday morning as in previous years.

According to chief booker Anders Wáhren, the change is to allow Roskilde Festival to better compete for the big headliners, when fewer of their music days clash with the Friday-Sunday weekend that most European festivals are held simultaneously.

The change could be interesting in the context of Rock Werchter, which year after year houses some of the top international rock / pop / electronic headliners during the same weekend.
