Sony BMG sued over DRM

In the recent weeks there has been huge public attention on Sony BMG's DRM (Digital Rights Management) copy-protection technology, that installs and hides itself to the computer without asking a permission from the user.

Shortly after this was published, a few virus writers were able to create a virus exploiting the loopholes in the DRM technology. Sony BMG was forced to pull all of their DRM-protected CD's off the market, obviously thinking that was the end of it.

But now, The State of Texas has filed a class-action lawsuit against Sony BMG. The company can expect heavy fines in the near future.
