Help Banger Films raise funds for "The Lost Episode: Extreme Metal"

Posted by AP on 19/09/12

Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn (the director of the "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" documentary) have launched an initiative to raise funds for what has become known as "The Lost Episode" in their "Metal Evolution" series on VH1, which would cover the extreme metal genres death metal, black metal and grindcore. If you would like to help them make the episode a reality, you can donate funds via Indiegogo.com.

According to Sam Dunn,

"Hundreds of fans have emailed us demanding, pleading, that we do this episode, so in response we're launching an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funding within the Metal community to finance the episode. The goal is to raise $175,000 in 90 days!"

The money raised will send Dunn on a global journey from San Francisco, CA and Tampa, FL to the United Kingdom, Norway and Sweden to investigate the history, myths and intricacies of extreme metal. The episode aims to unravel the lineage between the divergent branches within extreme metal, and feature interviews with the sub-genre's most influential sonic architects, including members of Death, Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, Napalm Death, Entombed, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Opeth and Enslaved, among many others.
