The Hextalls ready with new album

Posted by PP on 06/12/11

The Hextalls have finished writig their new album and look to release it sometime in early 2012. Here's an update from the band:

t's almost a week into December, and I'm only now getting a chance to sit down and write our update. That means that it's either been a crazy busy week, or I'm just trying to depress the hell out of Deutsch-Mark. So yeah, sorry everyone.

We spent most of November pouring over the mixes from the new record, picking nits and making lists. Then, one glorious day, our amazing engineer, the mighty Jesse Gander, got us back into studio for a fix day. We went through and cleaned up the record, and now, every time Devin listens to it, he does a happy dance. The record is currently being mastered, so we should have a master copy ready for repro any day now.

On the non-music side of the album, we found ourselves a fine local artist named Jenny Kong to draw us some prime cover art. I took that badboy and layered it up with words and such, so now we have what you might call most of, if not all of, an album. I'm thinking that come January we'll be able to make a proper announcement with name and ship date and all that good stuff. My guess is that we'll be packaging this record up with Get Smashed and Call it a Comeback and maybe a shirt or something. Definitely stickers.

Anyway, that's all I can say for now. Keep checking this space for all the "exciting" news. Happy Holidays to everyone, and see you in 2012!
