Northside Festival goes international

Posted by AP on 03/12/10

Northside Festival (sibling to the German Hurricane and Southside festivals) have announced they will be going for a more international profile in the second edition of the Århusian festival.

The festival shares booking with the aforementioned German festivals (which have Foo Fighters and Blink 182 on the bill, among others), and takes place in the same weekend (June 11-12).

Today the festival is proud to announce its first bookings, Thomas Dybdahl and De Eneste To, despite not having decided upon where exactly the festival is to be held.

But considering the co-operation with the German festival duo, it seems Northside Festival might be able to compete with both Copenhell (June 17-18) and Roskilde Festival (June 30-July 3).

The festival hopes to present its first international heavyweight shortly, but in order to do so, the organization behind the event needs to find a location where noise restrictions will not be enforced (as was the case with last year's edition of the festival). Time will tell. We will keep you updated.
