Weezer

Make Believe

Weezer returns with their new album "Make Believe" after three years break from song writing. This album nearly didn't happen, the band had to take group therapy much in the style of Metallica to get the recording finished. I've never been a big fan of Weezer, and this album certainly doesn't make me one either. It kicks off with one of the only good songs on the album, namely "Beverly Hills". But try playing this song together with Wheatus' "Teenage Dirtbag". Did they steal the bass/guitar combo from that song's verses or what? And "Beverly Hills", in it's essence, is everything this album is. It is unoriginal, uncreative and most strikingly: BORING. Listening to these songs more than 4 times makes them nothing special. All of them are radio friendly and made with the intention of getting as much airtime on MTV. But despite all this thrash-talk about "Make Believe", don't get me wrong. It's an all right album, it's just..nothing new under the sun.
