Hardbone

Dirty 'N' Young

Annoyed over how long AC/DC take in between releasing new albums these days (about one per 5-8 years or so)? Not to worry, there are a ton of bands taking advantage of the void for your yearly/bi-yearly AC/DC fix, none of them as good as the originals, of course, but most of them ranging between reasonably good to pretty darn good imitations of the legends. Take your pick: Big Ball, Airbourne, Hot Leg, Tokyo Dragons, and now, Hardbone, who've just released their debut album "Dirty 'N' Young".

Considering how little originality or effort to deviate from being a 100% AC/DC clone is found on the album, I wouldn't be surprised if the title of "Dirty 'N' Young" was created with a though process somewhere along the lines of this: "hey dudes, we love rock'n'roll right?", asks the guitarist, to which the vocalist screams in his perfect Brian Johnson imitation: "yaaaaaaaaaaah!!!". "So what if we take the slogan Rock'N'Roll, and replace both sides of the 'N' with something pretty rock'n'roll? Like, Dirty, and Young, for instance?"...."yaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!". And so the Hardbone debut album was created, and that's really all you need to know about it. If you like AC/DC, you'll enjoy this as temporary entertainment while you're waiting for the next Angus Young solo to land in a few years' time, but even so, you're better off with both Airbourne and Big Ball, whose songs are a tad more catchy and convincing than the xeroxed ones Hardbone has to offer.
