Terror

Always The Hard Way

Terror is slowly but surely climbing up to a cult status within the hardcore scene. Words like 'punishing', 'aggressive', 'angry' and many other synonyms easily come into mind when listening to this incredibly pissed off group of guys from Los Angeles, and if I were working for the NSA I would immediately order these guys down for eavesdropping and constant surveillance, considering their name and song titles like "All For Revenge", "Strike You Down" and "Last Of The Diehards". The titles will already give you a great idea of how Terror sounds: uncompromising, straight forward relentless hardcore/hardcore punk in the vein of Hatebreed, with the odd thrash riff here and there and the genre-specific rapid fire drumming pounding on the background.

While there isn't anything original in Terror or their new album "Always The Hard Way", sometimes all you need is a good punch in the face and some music to fit the moment, and that's exactly the effect the thirty minute album gives you, which leads into my only real criticism of the album: it's just far too short. The songs are all excellent and can stand by themselves too, but after "Smash Through You" blasts its finishing killer riffs through, you're left with an empty feeling of "was that it?". Otherwise, it delivers its simple, straight forward hardcore furiously.
