Since music is largely a matter of taste, no magazine typically agrees, not necessarily even internally on what is the best album, the second best album, and so forth. So here at Rockfreaks.net we have always taken a different approach: we think it's far more important to try to capture all relevant albums from a given year of release that will have some significance a few years down the line...

Inferno Metal Festival, which will take place in Oslo, Norway between April 14th and April 17th next year, has completed its line-up with the addition of the following new artists:

New date found for Hearteater's Copenhagen show

Copenhagen, Denmark-based post-hardcore unit Hearteater have found a new date for their hometown show at BETA, which was originally supposed to take place yesterday, March 06th.


It will now happen on June 11th instead and if you already have a ticket, it remains valid for the new date. There are also more tickets available for purchase here for 140 DKK (+ fees), while more information is available in the official Facebook event.


Hearteater released their début album “A House in Rapture” in 2019 and you can check out a lyric video for the title track below.


Inferno to release new album "PARADEIGMA..." in May

Karviná, Czechia’s black metal veterans Inferno have set May 07th as the official release date for their eighth studio album “PARADEIGMA (Phosphenes of Aphotic Eternity)” via Debemur Morti Productions. It consists of the following tracks:

02. “The Wailing Horizon”

03. “Descent into Hell of the Future”

04. “Phosphenes”

05. “Ekstasis of the Continuum”

We Were Sharks drop music video for new single "Problems"

Ottawa, ON’s pop punk group We Were Sharks have dropped a music video for their new song “Problems” online below. It is the second track to be released by the band since their 2018 album “Lost Touch”, which leads us to believe that a follow-up to that effort is likely imminent.

It follows hot on the heels of the group’s 2020 album “All Fell Silent, Everything Went Quiet”, and will be released through Prosthetic Records on May 21st. The following tracks are included:

Dutch experimental metallers Autarkh have posted a visualiser clip for their new song “Alignment” online below through Outburn. It is featured on their impending album “Form in Motion”, which will land in stores this coming Friday, March 12th via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered on various formats here.


The group is part of Roadburn Festival’s upcoming Roadburn Redux online streaming event between April 16th and April 18th, at which they will perform an alternative version of the record as a trio (Autarkh III). You can find all the details about it in its official Facebook event.
