On the 4th of July, it was time for the yearly tech-pilgrimage to Newark-on-Trent, England for one of my favourite festivals in the world: UK Tech-Fest. This marked the 7th time I have attended the festival (I am still salty about missing out on 2017) and there is a very strong reason why I keep doing this every year. Numenorean unveils European tour in December

Calgary, AB-based post-black metal group Numenorean will team up with Gaerea for a European tour late this year, and there are two concerts in Denmark included on their itinerary.


The first of these will take place at Stengade in Copenhagen on December 05th, and additionally features the Danish blackgaze group MØL. Tickets are available for purchase via Place2Book.com for 170 DKK (+ fees), while more information can be found in the official Facebook event here.


The second show is booked for 1000Fryd in Aalborg the day after, on December 06th, and tickets for it can be bought here for 50 DKK (+ fees). For more information, check the official Facebook event.

Palaye Royale to tour Europe in 2020

Toronto, ON-based art / indie-rock group Palaye Royale will tour Europe next year, and those plans involve a concert at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on March 05th.


Tickets for the show cost 225 DKK (+ fees) and will be released for sale at 10:00 a.m. this coming Wednesday, August 28th via Ticketmaster.dk, while more information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Slipknot announces European tour in early 2020

Des Moines, IA-born nu metal titans Slipknot have unveiled the dates and venues for their previously teased European tour early next year, and confirmed that Behemoth will be providing support.


The Danish show is booked for Royal Arena in Copenhagen on February 20th, and tickets will be released for sale at 09:00 a.m. next Friday, August 30th via Ticketmaster.dk for 530 DKK to 640 DKK (+ fees). For more information, check the official Facebook event.

It is the third new single to arrive from the Myrtle Beach, SC-based melodic hardcore turned indie-rock band this year, and as such, there is some speculation that a follow-up to 2017’s “Rare”, which we reviewed here, is underway.

Konkhra lines up domestic concerts in December & January

Køge and Copenhagen, Denmark-based death metal veterans Konkhra have lined up a handful of domestic shows in support of their upcoming album “Alpha and the Omega”, which will be released through Hammerheart Records on October 18th.


The first show will take place at BETA in Copenhagen on December 06th and features Detest as the support act. Tickets can be purchased here for 125 DKK (+ fees), while more information is available in the official Facebook event.


The next gig is booked for Studenterhuset in Aalborg the day after, on December 07th, and support will be provided by Valkenrag as well as a yet-to-be-confirmed other act. The pre-sale has not opened yet, but keep an eye on the official Facebook event for updates.


The last of the three announced concerts will take place at Tapperiet in Køge, with tickets now on sale here for 145 DKK (+ fees). More information can likewise be found in the official Facebook event.

As I Lay Dying have posted a live music video for their classic track “Confined”, featuring footage shot during their European tour in 2018, online below. The song appears on the San Diego, CA-born metalcore titans’ 2005 album “Shadows Are Security”. There is a new full-length record titled “Shaped by Fire” on the horizon as well, which Nuclear Blast Records intends to have on store shelves on September 20th. You can find the full details of it in our earlier news item.


The band will return to Denmark at last on October 02nd to playa concert at Amager Bio in Copenhagen, with Chelsea Grin, Unearth and Fit For A King providing support. Queens, NY-resident emo / punk rock group Bayside has posted a new song called “Prayers” along with a visualiser clip, which you can check out below. It is the first recorded output from the band since their 2016 album “Vacancy”, which we reviewed here, and the expectation is that it serves as the first taste of an eventual follow-up to that record.


Monolord unveils music video for new song "The Last Leaf"

Gothenburg, Sweden-based doom / stoner metal trio Monolord has premiered the official music video for “The Last Leaf” via Consequence of Sound, which you can check out below. The track appears on their forthcoming album “No Comfort”, which will be released through Relapse Records on September 20th and was detailed in our earlier news article.


Copenhagen residents may be interested in the band’s concert Babel in Malmö on October 18th, for which they’ve tapped Firebreather as the support act. Tickets are available for purchase here for 170 SEK, with more information found in the official Facebook event.


Killswitch Engage posts music video for "The Signal Fire"

The track is taken from the Westfield, MA-born metalcore titans’ newly released album “Atonement”, which came out this past Friday, August 16th.

A Day To Remember has unleashed a new single called “Degenerates”, which you can listen to below. The track arrives with the announcement that the Ocala, FL-based metalcore / pop-punk hybrid has signed with Fueled by Ramen for the release of their seventh studio album, though further details regarding that effort are still pending. It will be the first record from the band since their 2016 outing “Bad Vibrations”, which we reviewed here.
