On the 4th of July, it was time for the yearly tech-pilgrimage to Newark-on-Trent, England for one of my favourite festivals in the world: UK Tech-Fest. This marked the 7th time I have attended the festival (I am still salty about missing out on 2017) and there is a very strong reason why I keep doing this every year. New Bayside single "Prayers" available for streaming

Queens, NY-resident emo / punk rock group Bayside has posted a new song called “Prayers” along with a visualiser clip, which you can check out below. It is the first recorded output from the band since their 2016 album “Vacancy”, which we reviewed here, and the expectation is that it serves as the first taste of an eventual follow-up to that record.


Monolord unveils music video for new song "The Last Leaf"

Gothenburg, Sweden-based doom / stoner metal trio Monolord has premiered the official music video for “The Last Leaf” via Consequence of Sound, which you can check out below. The track appears on their forthcoming album “No Comfort”, which will be released through Relapse Records on September 20th and was detailed in our earlier news article.


Copenhagen residents may be interested in the band’s concert Babel in Malmö on October 18th, for which they’ve tapped Firebreather as the support act. Tickets are available for purchase here for 170 SEK, with more information found in the official Facebook event.


Killswitch Engage posts music video for "The Signal Fire"

Killswitch Engage have a new music video out for their song “The Signal Fire” featuring a cameo from their former vocalist Howard Jones, which you can watch below. The track is taken from the Westfield, MA-born metalcore titans’ newly released album “Atonement”, which came out this past Friday, August 16th.


Danish fans can look forward to watching the band live at Amager Bio in Copenhagen on November 02nd, with tickets on sale here for 375 DKK (+ fees). More information can be found in the official Facebook event.

A Day To Remember debuts new single: "Degenerates"

A Day To Remember has unleashed a new single called “Degenerates”, which you can listen to below. The track arrives with the announcement that the Ocala, FL-based metalcore / pop-punk hybrid has signed with Fueled by Ramen for the release of their seventh studio album, though further details regarding that effort are still pending. It will be the first record from the band since their 2016 outing “Bad Vibrations”, which we reviewed here.


Except One & Tyron to support Hatesphere & Diabolical on European tour

Paris, France-born groove metal troop Except One and Cologne, Germany-based heavy / thrash metal crew Tyron have been confirmed as the support bands for Hatesphere and Diabolical’s co-headlining European tour this Fall, including the concert at Loppen in Copenhagen on October 04th.

Roadburn Festival 2020 makes first announcements

Roadburn Festival has unveiled not one but two curators for its 2020 line-up: Emma Ruth Rundle, who will assemble her artists of choice under the banner “The Gilded Cage”, as well as James Kent (of Perturbator fame).


This first announcement from the 2020 edition of the festival also includes lifting a veil on three commissioned performances that will take place there next year. The first of these unites the aforementioned Kent with Cult Of Luna’s Johannes Persson, while the second will bring together Bismuth and Vile Creature for a one-off concert dubbed “A Hymn of Loss and Hope”. The final show will be created by Jo Quail and is titled “The Cartographer”.


And last but not least, Roadburn will welcome back Julie Christmas for a solo concert, following her triumphant “Mariner” performance with Cult Of Luna at festival in 2018.


Roadburn will take place between April 16th and April 19th in the Dutch city of Tilburg, with tickets set to go on sale on September 24th. For more information, check the official Facebook event.

Brutus & This Gift Is A Curse to support Cult of Luna in Copenhagen

Leuven, Belgium-based post-metallers Brutus and Stockholm, Sweden-resident extreme metal crew This Gift Is A Curse have been revealed as the support acts for Cult Of Luna’s concert at Pumpehuset in Copenhagen on October 17th.


Tickets for the show are available for purchase via Billetto.dk for 230 DKK (+ fees), while more details can be found in the official Facebook event.

Enter Shikari premieres music video for "Stop the Clocks"

Having debuted it last week, Enter Shikari have now followed up with a music video for their new single “Stop the Clocks”, which you can watch below. The track is the first recorded output from the St. Albans, United Kingdom-born electro-rock troop since their 2017 album “The Flood”, though as of yet it has not been revealed if a follow-up to that record is in the works.


Sunnata unveils Danish concert in October

Warsaw, Poland-based sludge / stoner metal mob Sunnata has mapped out a European tour this Fall, with Yatra providing support, and those plans include a concert at Stengade in Copenhagen on October 03rd.

Swindler announces domestic headlining shows in September

Danish southern fried hard rock group Swindler have two Danish concerts on the horizon, with Danger Of Men and Murderbird set to provide support.


The first of these will take place at Musikcaféen in Copenhagen on September 20th, with tickets available here for 100 DKK a piece. More information can be found in the official Facebook event.


The second show is booked for Kansas City in Odense on September 21st, and tickets are available for purchase here for 80 DKK (+ fees). More details can likewise be found in the official Facebook event.

Brenn. confirms two Danish concerts in November

Norwegian indie-rock duo Brenn. has been booked for two Danish concerts this Fall, with Ral. providing support.


The first show will take place at Loppen in Copenhagen on November 20th, with tickets now on sale over at Tikkio.com for 100 DKK a piece. More information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Copenhagen Metal Fest 2019 unveils running order

Copenhagen Metal Fest has unveiled the running order for its inaugural edition, which till take place at the Amager Bio, BETA & ZeBu complex in Copenhagen on September 20th and September 21st. You can check it out in the bottom of this article.

Oldham County, KY-based hardcore punk crew Knocked Loose has announced a concert at Lille VEGA in Copenhagen on December 10th. Support will be provided by Malevolence, Renounced and Justice For The Damned.

Volbeat announces two Danish concerts

As expected, Volbeat have added two Danish concerts to their European touring plans later this year, and they both include support sets from Baroness and Danko Jones.


The first show will take place at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning on November 23rd, tickets for which cost between 380 and 690 DKK (+ fees) over at Ticketmaster.dk. More information can be found in the official Facebook event.

Refused recently followed up on the premiere of their new single “Blood Red” with a music video, which you can watch below. The song is taken from the Umeå, Sweden-based art-punk outfit’s forthcoming album “War Music”, which will be released through Search & Destroy and Spinefarm Records on October 18th and is now available for pre-order here.
